Daddy Be Going (going… gone)

I don’t know if I told you guys that my dad was planning on flying out on the 22nd of October, just under 3 weeks away.

Well, Dad rang the hospital last night.

Nan went to get out of bed, and had a fall and landed on her face. Nothing’s broken, but she’s hurt her nose and her face, so she’s being kept in hospital for another week.

Nan’s specialist was talking to my auntie, and he said to her “If your brother’s flying over, he should get here sooner rather than later.”

Dad is now running around trying to find the soonest available flight out. Which means, he could very well be gone by this weekend.

So much for having a couple of weeks to prepare.

I’m just so stressed at the moment… I feel like I’m not getting a break at all, from anything! I like to think that I’m a strong person, and I can handle it pretty well when things go wrong, but right now, I feel just… I don’t know. Totally useless, perhaps? I feel like I haven’t got a grip on anything at all… it’s all just slipping away from me.

At least I have the rest of the week off work, looks like I’m going to need it to help get Dad ready to go…

  1. Sorry to hear about your Nan’s fall. I hope your Dad gets a flight quickly and has a safe journey. Once your Dad has gone, take some time for yourself to relax a little. Go see a movie with friends, jump in the bath, buy one of those gossip magazines – do something for yourself, so you don’t let the stress get to you too badly. *hug*

  2. *hugs*

I’m sorry about your nan – and all the stress it must be causing for you and your family. Keep your chin up, and if you need a friend, you know where to find me!!

  3. Hope things work out for you!

  4. Oh, that’s terrible news! Hope your dad gets to your nan quick.
